Reds destroy that shite. Shape and color don't seem to matter.

If you're fishing for trout it doesn't seem to do better than an H&H sparkle beetle. I don't know about reds.

Red use smell and aren't picky what they bite. Gulp is great if you remember to take the bait off the hook when you're finished because it will dry into a small fish-shaped cement block.

A buddy told me the same this past weekend. He swears by Gulp, but he's a suspect fisherman in my opinion.

Having never fished with it, does a single lure last a while, or does it get tore up easily?

It's expensive and won't last long. And keeping non-Gulp bait in the gulp juice is pointless because it rinses off the second it hits the water. The gulp bait has a different, porous texture that soaks that juice up. That juice will also eat away the color of your lures.

Yeah, ain't cheap. I only buy when going specifically for reds and when I don't think a spot remover is ideal.

Yea, I bought a tub of Gulp last year and don't plan on buying another one. That doesn't mean they don't work very well. I've just been very successful recently without 'em. Also, I've still got some gulp crabs that I drag on the bottom with no luck so I'll probably just give those away; waste of money.
