For axis u absolutely can not go wrong with martin. That guy works harder for the client to be successful than any other guided hunt i have been on. I have been 4 yrs in a row with hime for axis and turkey. I havent deer hunted but i imagine his work ethic is the same with whitetail.

Great guide and a louisiana guy originally

I lease a couple thousand acres between Ozona and Sonora.

It is typical Texas deer hunting. The owner and the whole crew at Sonora Deer Processing are friendly and do a great job. If I can answer any questions let me know. Good Luck and enjoy your hunt. You should have a good time.

I’ve hunted all over Texas. Lots of people love Sonora, but it’s not an area I particularly enjoy. Water is scarce and the deer are undersized. You can easily kill what I’d call an “average hill country deer” in Sonora but there are much bigger whitetail (size and horn) not far from there. Recent years ranchers in the area ha e started doing more high fence mgmt programs, which of course has advantages and disadvantages.

Personally, I’d go north to San Angelo/Brady/Menard. Bigger deer and similar price.

Or go south to Rocksprings or a little further east to Uvalde/Dilly. Little more money but much better deer.

Hunted south of Sonora and Juno. Really big deer.
