No visual confirmation other than when it went into the water heater. I am over it but the wife still uneasy. I am planning to keep the room blocked off and Doogie door propped open until Saturday. Thinking if it still there it might leave with the weather warming up the next couple of days.

I would be more worried about having rats and mice (a snake is often a sign that there are rodents around). Snakes do not carry crippling viruses like leptospirosis. They do not ruin your stuff. I had a friend who had some of her stuff in storage and rats got into the storage facility. They chewed up stuff. Rat urine was on her stuff. She had a box with some old prescription medicine and the rats chewed into the medicine "bottles" (what do you call the plastic containers?).

If I out at the farm and see a king snake, I'll catch it and move it to the barn that has no barn cats.

My brother is irrationally scared of snakes.

I’ve caught a dozen different species this year, including 30+ cottonmouths, but I’ve yet to find a rat snake this year. And practically every snake I see posted on social media is a damn rat snake. They are hiding in plain sight.

Yea I dig looking at all this snakes you catch out there...you are for sure in cottonmouth central. All I ever see by my house is Dekays I want something different...but you can keep the CMs. I have a 8k gallon Koi pond I thought for sure i'd see one but nothing yet after 7 years.
