I hear the axles on them do not last long, so I would check them on a used one.

Sorry for not being specific. That kind of stuff goes without saying. I certainly won't be buying new, too many people get into all kinds of hobbies/outdoor activities only to have their stuff lie around and end up selling it. Besides, it would be only used on long trips and in the winter time which wouldn't be a lot.

This thread has me checking out used "pop up" campers online. I wouldn't buy one new, but there are some nice used ones, relatively inexpensive.

Oh yeah, I look every now and again. Plenty of people with money who waste it and buy shite they shouldn't have. Either they upgrade or it sits. I always check craigslist for any gear I might be looking for. I found a great fly rod/reel for $45 this summer. It was brand new for 135 on amazon and a little more at full retail. The guy used it once and that was it.....SCORE!

Like cars.....why buy new? No fricking point. IMO

On our 3rd used camper. Will never buy new. Oh, NEVER buy salvaged title. I say never. Only way is if you plan to use it as a camp and will never travel with it or try to sell.

Yeah, I got over that new "stuff" appeal a long time ago. I don't build in value like new paint and smell..

I get most of my ski gear at a local sale they have here called the ski swap he first week in November. Also have a couple of used sporting goods stores here in town. I capitalize on the gear heads who like new stuff and tire of them when they get a scratch.
