Last year I got the Stratus jacket.

Loved how it was super thin, but able to block wind and keep me warm with only an Under Armour long sleeve under it.

Decided to spend the dough and get the Stratus pants because long johns and jeans/assorted Academy camo pants weren't cutting it.

Got them in yesterday and holy Jesus are they comfortable. If they perform like the jacket I'm gonna be one comfy SOB this season.

So, if anyone is in the market for new gear and tired of being cold, I just wanted to provide that to hopefully make the decision easier. Just prepare thy wallet.

Gear that performs to the price point is def worth it. It feels like a gamble though.

I absolutely believe you could be as warm for less, but you'll look like the Michelin Man. It's crazy how thin this stuff is compared to the older gear I have. The big advantage is the windblocker layer. It doesnt get relatively cold here in Lousiana compared to other places, but the wind will cut you to the bone.

Sitka will last much longer then other brands. I have some from 2012 and I still wear it. There isn’t a single zipper problem.

Find a guide and use their discount. Their clothing is nice but not full price nice.

If you ever move around in damp/cold when you hunt the timberline pants are amazing. The combo of waterproof arse and removeable knee pads is fantastic if you like to move a bit and sit/kneel in different places.
