I think that's a great deal. I'm trying to choose between this and a Rock Island 9mm 1911. I know some see that as blasphemous, but it's a lot more fun to shoot when I'm not cringing over the price of the ammo going down range.

Gun dealer/smith friend of mine carries a Rock. I am waiting for one to come in now. He swears by them.

$1000 is too much. You can buy it new for less than that.

Nitron over Stainless is the finish Sig uses on most of their newer pistols.

Offer him like $750 and go up to max $800 if you have to. Otherwise, shop around for a new one.

I don't see a reason for a 9mm 1911 unless it's for competition. If you go 1911, get the original 45 or the hard-hitting 10mm (or 357 mag if you have serious dough).
