I dialed in my new optic this weekend. My up down worked as advertised but when trying to zero left/right, I had to turn the knob over one full turn. Like from 0 all the way around to 0 and then some. This seems like an issue. Do I keep it since it's zeroed now or send it back?

Is it not pegged to one side? are you sure the scope is level and inline on the gun?

Yes, send it back if all those are accounted for

Which answers none of those questions except one. If this scope has 50MOA of internal windage adjustment then chances are it's a problem in how the scope is mounted rather than the scope itself.

I didn't realize there was a different way to mount it other than sticking it on the mount and making sure it was level. As level as can be.

My gun is not crooked. I was trained by the US government and I feel like I don't know shite about weapons of today and optics of today. I'm learning though.

Did the scope rings come with the scope? Correct size?
I'd try taking your scope rings off and mounting them 180 degrees. See if it moves all the way to the other side of the adjustment range.

Actually it's a pretty detailed process from proper torquing, leveling, and even align honing the rings to the receiver before dropping the tube.

Go get a coke/beer can and a pair of cutters. Cut two pieces about an 3/4 of an inch long and the width of the rings. Remove scope from rings, place one shim on the front ring, one on the rear. They'll go on opposite sides. The idea is to line up the scope to the barrel.

Just know that if you put shim material on the bottom of the ring, it will change the vertical adjustment.

After rereading, Id just disassemble/reassemble. Check it again.

Some guns are just "friday" guns and sometimes they dont line up. If its an AR, the rail could be out of spec and there is nothing wrong at all.

The real question is, did the round move when you turned the know a full turn? If not, Id send the scope back. If adjusting the scope doesnt move the impact at least a little, something is messed up.

And lastly, if anyone really wants to test their scope out, a box test is a great way to make sure your adjustments are what they say they are.
