Yall dont have issues finding 20G Ammo? I can barely find 12 around here. I ended up getting him 2 cases in Katy a few weeks ago, the only 2 cases they had.

Haven’t looked for 20 but my son is on his school trap team. He still has a bunch and a lot more ordered through his team but other kids don’t have ammo and have had a hard time finding it.

I’ve seen a case of 12g regular low brass game loads going for upwards of $150.

Got mine a Benelli SBE for Christmas. Bought it at Dad's pawn and gun in Gulfport. These guys normally have huge inventory and they were lower priced than Bass Pro etc....

Depends on the depth of your pockets, where you hunt, and your (or your son's) attention to cleaning the gun.

I'd recommend something CeraKoted if you're in the marsh down south.

Personally, I like a Beretta A300 (NOT CeraKoted). Mine has been a workhorse, but I'm diligent on cleaning.

In season I’ve ordered browning bxd. Not cheap for anything right now.

Love my Browning Gold Hunter, but when I bought my two boys their first shotguns, they were 870 Express Magnums. You can use those to paddle or push pole your boat then shoot ducks. Killed a fair number of deer with it using rifled slugs in areas up North where rifles weren’t allowed. And in the unlikely event it ever hangs up, disassembly is super easy.

I have been shooting BOSS for the past few seasons. It’s not the cheapest but it’s always available, reliable, clean ammo. And it comes shipped directly to consumer free. I shoot 3” #4 out of my 20g m2 and can kill anything out to 50 and likely beyond i just don’t shoot that far

My parents were from the city and when I was little I used to always ask why I didn't have guns get passed down like all my friends at school (though I ended up getting them from grandparents and older friends I hunted with later) so my dad bought a SBE2 to troll me to say he got it to give it to me one day but I couldn't use it. Needless to say I use it a good bit and I love that gun. I think they have a Super Black Eagle 3 out now, but I don't know much about it. It doesn't really matter but if he's into duck hunting he'll probably like a camo one.

I love my A300. Has been lightyears better than my 870. Only paid $45 and won it in a raffle too.
