Thinking of buying, anyone fish with this? Worth the price tag? Just bought a Falcon rod and looking to pair it up with something nice.

I'm not a big fan of spinning reels. but to each his own.

I have one and love it. The feel is not leaps above a Sahara, but it has more drag and better internal components.

Trout and reds.....did I get my model numbers mixed up?

I wouldn't get the 4000 for that, I'd get a 3000 or 2000. I have an equivalent sized Abu Cardinal and it's just too big to constantly cast all day.

I've caught reds up to 30lbs on a Stradic 4000. They can easy stop bigger reds.

We're thinking smaller reels.

No doubt, i only use the 4000 on Dixey Bar in Mobile using 6" croackers for bait. I'm using 30lbs braid on it.
I've caught plenty of trout and reds on my 2000 as well. For the marsh they are plenty big enough.

for what its worth i fish with a Stradic 2500 on a falcon coastal - after 4 years i have zero complaints and would buy another one just like it tomorrow without hesitation. Very easy to maintain too. Ive surf fished, caught trout and reds, jigged for flounder, fished nearshore rigs for small snapper and even use it for bass fishing. its a very versatile set-up.

For slot reds and trout I prefer the Sustain 3000FE. I have a Stratic CI4 4000F for larger prey. For long days of casting lures I prefer the smaller rig as it is easier on my not so young shoulders.
