Alright folks, the new member of the family has arrived!!! Stag Arms Model 7
hunter, left handed, 6.8 spc!!!!!

Now, how to equip it??

I am thinking about a new scope in the 3-9 X 40 range. I don't really want anything bigger than 42 because I want to keep it streamlined.

Also, I was thinking of getting something on the lower side of prices to keep it affordable. And, so I won't care if I bang it up. $200 range (like a Nikon Buckmaster)? But will consider arguments for a Meopta, Burris, etc.
What are the best options for under $400-ish?

Also, No clue what the best mounts are....
Opinions?

Geaux!!

Nice! I like that!!

I was leaning towards a 1-piece. Wilson is a leader in AR style rifles. Will do a little extra research and probably get that exact mount!

Thanks!

Okay, now scopes.

Sightron SII?
Meopta?
Bushnell Elite 3200, 4200?
Burris?
Vortex?

Does anyone have any experience with Sightron? I'm reading really great things about them. Meopta and Sightron are the front runners.

Thoughts??

I can tell you the elite 3200 series has solid and repeatable clicks, the main thing i look for in a scope next to clarity. I can also speak for the Nikon buckmaster as having good clicks and slightly better glass than the elite 3200.

Slickback,

Let's see.
22 L/R check
270 wsm/deer rifle/long distance zombie gun/check

6.8 is next!! 20 yard to 300 yard zombie killer.

Go get one!! I need somebody to shoot with!!

It is a hard choice.
I have read too many good reviews about Sightron. The SII series is at a low price on SWFA.com and Sightron is offering a rebate of $50. I can get a great piece of glass for under $200!!!
3-9 x 42. SII Sightron. That is what I have decided.

Good call. Have read some great things about Sightron and Vortex. One of those will be my next scope, just to try something different.

You lookin for a tacti-cool scope or just a regular ol rifle scope?

Can't help you with tacticool but for $200 you can't beat a leupold rifleman...

ETA: Nevermind. Didn't see that you had already made your mind up

I have a NcStar scope with a quick detach system. They have a pretty good selection as far as magnification and reticle.

Downshift,
Haha! Yep, it looks like Sightron.

Although, I think I read that Sightron makes the glass for Leupold or something like that.

So, I am taking your advice indirectly.
