A guy called in to Walton & Johnson two days ago and said that he went to Red Jacket last week.

He said that there is a large fence around the place and security guards that told him he needed an appointment.

He was also told to go to their website and fill out a form stating when he wanted to go and why, and they would get back to him to schedule an appointment.

Anyone else heard of this? I guess since the TV show their foot traffic increased too much.

SIAP; I searched.

Psychos too interested in the girls.

And probably way too many people just looking for autographs and trying to get on TV.

Drove down Mammoth Drive a while back and laughed when I passed the place. Security guard walking around and high end vehicles all over the lot. It ain't anything like the rest of the street. It wouldn't surprise me if he's telling the truth.

I noticed that last week, anytime a customer walked in that the owner (can't think of his name right now) had to unlock the door and let the guy in

I think they were by appointment only long before the show. I don't think they really have any type of show room or anything. Everything they sell is customized for the most part.

He knows his stuff, but he doesn't come off as a guy I'd want to hang out with.

It's hard to tell what an act and what isn't.

Honestly this is my problem with all of the newer history/discovery channel shows. The reality TV format is horrendous.

Most people understand that the show is probably somewhat scripted but I don't think people know just how scripted and fake it really is. Natchez Democrat

If it all sounded a little difficult to believe, it is. It turns out that Scarborough does not own an antique pistol, he is not a gun collector, and the only reason he was put on the show is because he knows the right people and could easily get his hands on some teeth, he said.

You'll have to read most of the article to get my point.

The episode the other night involved a Mark 19 automatic grenade launcher, which they stated was incredibly loud and hence, one part of their project was to silence it. I've fired a Mark 19 on several occasions, although it's been a long time, and do not recall it being specifically loud at all, especially given the mechanics of it.

So,

His rep amongst the gun community of this state prior to the show was that he was a completely insufferable a-hole.

The show didn't do much to change that.
