Waders SUCK for walking in the swamp. They're ok if you go really slow, but otherwise they suck.

Lacrosse hip boots are the way to go 99% of the time. It's usually hot, and you're usually gonna have to step over lots of crap. Many a man has busted his arse trying to walk the swamp in waders.

I have te lacRosse swamp tough pro. They are awesome and I would highly recommend them. They Are the first pair of waders that don't slip off my feet in the mud. Def get these.

Don't do anything insulated.. Trust me been there done that..been hunting the Marsh all my life.. They will make you sweat when you walk to your stand blind ext.. Then when you cool down you will freeze.. Frogg togg makes a nice thin durable pair. They are awesome. When it's super cold outside I wear long johns and pants and I do just find..

FWIW I have game winners as well and I hunt pretty hard in them. I would consider getting cabelas again but only because they have a great return policy (I went through two pairs of cabelas waders in 2013-14 duck season and they accepted both for a full return). Both of the cabelas waders were ripping apart at the seams though (which in my opinion is a manufacturing defect), as opposed to the game winners which I punctured several times on sticks and roseaucane stubs (which I feel is my own fault).
... We use dive boots.. Works great

I have said insulated game winners. they are not good for walking in swamp. swamp mud pulls on boot. foot slips out of boot, have to stop and push foot back down in boot. now boot is stuck deeper. have to grab thigh of wader and pull boot out of muck. so then you are walking tip toe so your boot won't get stuck anymore.

get hip boots are stocking foot wader with a strap on hi top or summtin.

i had the Lacrosse w/cordura covering that lasted 5 years or so. 1000gr insulation may be too hot though, if you are walking far.
