Recent Norfork Trip

We decided to take advantage of the unseasonably warm weather and head over to Norfork, AR for a few days after Christmas. One of my son's friends joined us as well as my wife and older son.

The boys have been obsessed with "mousing" at night and have been watching a ton of videos and trying it on some of our closer waters without much success. So the first night they decided to try their luck. I kept telling them that anglers spend years learning the White River system well enough to be able to hunt trophy trout at night with big streamers, but they insisted on giving it a shot. A few hours later and the pictures started rolling in. Teenager 3... Crochety old man 0.

The next day, we launched a canoe and a kayak and floated the Norfork. Boated 50 or so fish between three anglers... nothing substantial, though. The final day, the wind was slated to kick up, so we opted to forego the boats and just walk in to some public access areas. Only got 10 or so each that day. All in all, it's been a blast seeing my youngest get ate up with the fishing bug.
