For many years there would be large marsh fires out in N.O.East and in St. Bernard Parish when hunters would go out and set fire to the thick marsh grass.

They would burn it off then come back at a later date and run their dogs to hunt rabbits. Sometimes those fires would burn for weeks on end before going out.

Like someone already posted-----Some WMA's don't allow running dogs during duck season.

Areas not covered by the state as a wildlife management area are fair game.

Haven't done it in years but you can't beat a tractor and bush hog in a grown pasture.
