Questions regarding Rabbit/Squirrel/Hog Hunting lie within.

I'm not a member of any hunting lease what so ever, so that's out the way.
Where are some good public places that will allow randoms to rabbit and squirrel hunt during their seasons? I remember seeing a certain WMA that didn't allow squirrel hunting on the WLF website, so I assume that WMAs allow it with proper licenses and what not. Also wanted to know if cane fields would be a good place to rabbit..
Finally, where would be a good place to go and bust as many hogs as possible?
Just looking for a way to justify a rifle (read: AK or AR and maybe a 10/22) purchase in the future.
Thanks fellers.

Red River/Three Rivers has tons of hogs and you can hunt them there.

I see rabbits in the cane field by my house all the time. Also, I talked to someone at work and they said to check out the Lake boeuf WMA for squirrel and rabbit.

You can pig hunt during any hunting season, with any weapon allowed for that season. Thus the minute bow season opens you can bowhunt pigs from Oct. 1 thru Jan. 31, and in some spots until Feb. 15th. Since you are talking guns, squirrel/Rabbit season opens first weekend in Oct., then goes to end of Feb. You can hunt both with .22 or .22 mag, which are perfect for pigs, so I would vote to get a 10/22 or some semi-auto .22 mag.
The AR/AK would be limited for public land use during the gun season for deer, which isn't much in most places. Sorry I don't see the use of those for hunting.
I go scouting/squirrel/rabbit hunting all the time with my .17 HMR, and try to take pigs on the side. It's alot harder than you think, because they go nocturnal, or are situated up in some thicket you can't see into. I find Lac Ophelia NWR to be a great place for pigs, and squirrels, so maybe try the .22 in there. Red River and Three Rivers and Grassy Lake WMAs are likewise good for both. Good luck.

You could also just ask around some local co-ops. Most of the cotton farmers I've ever asked are happy with you coming out at night to kill rabbits.
