My father in law has 120 acres of land im hunting some this year. i made a nice plot in a white oak bottom and have had a camera out over corn for 3 weeks now. The only thing with horns is one spike.... probably 6-8 different doe and some with spotted fawns.... is this a good thing come rut? Or is it possible no bucks are in the area?

I would think if you have the does you will have the bucks. Rut will tell .
Edited to add: as to corn in a white oak bottom: I don't know when your acorns drop but I can tell you when they do deer will walk thru corn to eat acorns. We had a nice stand of corn growing every year when the acorns were plentiful .

Bucks wonder far and wide during the rut. I wouldn't worry about it. Kill some does for meat, and then spend time in the stand during the rut.

When the rut gets closer you should start getting pictures of several different bucks. Some will be cruising and you'll only get them on camera once, others will stay in the area until they go back to their bachelor groups.

Where do you think those spotted fawns came from?

If you have fawns, you have bucks in the area. Keep the camera out and you'll see them. Sometimes they are more weary of food plots and feed. Even at night.

Put a camera in the oak grove and you'll see what you've got. I would expect the acorns are falling now up your way. Corn cam not indicative of what you got.

DONT shoot any of your does! They are the bait to bring a monster onto your 120. Why anybody that hunts on a small tract shoots does early is beyond me? Make the does happy, and they will bring him to you!

There's truth to this, but one doe in the early season to put meat in the freezer wont hurt.

Just give it time. If you've got does there will be bucks.
