aight, it's official. i'm an AK-47 owner now.

Blemished PSA model for $599. they offered 5% discount ($30 off) at checkout. $628.08 total. it might not have been the board's first option, but it's the cheapest option outside of that one CAI option.

What do AK guys think of Norinco and Maadis from Egypt?

Had both. The Chinese guns are good to go but since they were completely banned from importation in 1994, they are expensive. A milled Norinco or Polytech is a very desirable AK. Ironically for the Chinese who largely make cheap quality products, their AKs are pretty top notch.

The pre94 Maadis were sweet. They are the rifles you largely see in the original Red Dawn. The post 94s weren't all that great in comparison but I haven't seen one in a long time. Even the parts kits are dried up.

Congrats my friend - That was the best option out of the 2 choices you presented imo

I've got a GF3 with a little more than a 1k rounds through it and it's been good to go for me. I wish I had the FN barrel they offer with the GF5, but I'll never shoot over 60-80k+ rounds through this rifle. If I do run into any issues, it's got a life time warranty and you can get it replaced.

I'm not sure if you're in the market for a scope or not, but the Primary Arms 3x Prism scope gets a ton of love from most AK users. It's worth looking into

Yep, the "blemish" was where the safety slightly dragged

As I said earlier, I have yet to shoot mine. He will not be disappointed by the look though. Lots of people recommend the ALG trigger, I'm excited about my hiperfire

Is that not a normal function?

I'm using the texas weapons system dog leg rail. The fit and finish has been great for me. I'm not a huge fan of the side mount, but a lot of guys are.

Dog leg rail

Midwest Industries has some good side mounts

Can any of you with a PSA AK tell me what the thread pitch is at the end of the barrel? I want to get this compensator.

PSA has the thread pitch for each model when you click on them in the specification list.

Here you go. Apologies on the late reply.

I've been playing around with my GF3 recently as well. This is the latest config. Got about 1k rounds through it so far and it's been solid
