Some of y’all may remember my thread about homebuilt AR’s and resale value. Well my dog’s vet bills climbed close to $5k and I ended up selling it for most of what I had in it.

Dog came back from the vet this week with a clean bill of health. Meds cost about $200/month but no more daily/weekly vet visits. I didn’t really like not having an AR in the house so I decided to celebrate.

Propagandalf handled the FFL transfer and he was an absolute pro. Good dude and kept his shop open late to facilitate the transfer. Will be doing all my business with him now and recommend him to anyone in BR.

BCM RECCE 14.5 direct from Bravo Company. Limited run and I believe it’s still available for $1280. Added the gunfighter stock, fore grip, LaRue index clips, and some Troy iron sights. Not sure which optic I’m gonna go with yet. Y’all can hate on the quad rail or the 14.5 barrel but the fit and finish is top notch. Can’t wait to give it a run this weekend. Prop and Carson are two great dudes to do business with, albeit at different stores. But I think they're the best go-to OB vendors here.

EDIT: I meant specifically for the Baton Rouge area. This wouldn't be a bad idea for another sticky - list of vendors in each area.

Had a lot of BCM parts in my home build that I got rid of which led me to this one. Only other rifle that I considered was the DDM4 V5, but the price was right on the BCM.

Admittedly I was eyeing the BCM RECCE-16 KMR in FDE but its out of stock and $1499.

Agreed, but in fairness, for Baton Rouge. I'm sure there are other FFL OBers in other parts of the state. I think Interstate Guns in Hammond (IG Chris?) is on here.

ETA: 16 KMR-A is back in stock for those interested.

On another note, are you still doing CHP classes? I was about to sign up for the March Bearco class, but I'd rather not have to drive an hour to Covington for an 8AM class. But I do plan on doing a carbine course at Bearco sometime this summer.
