The Alberto is what I use as well. Never knew what it was called until just now but an old timer showed me that knot several years ago for tying heavy 100# braid to 60# mono backing on my heavy flathead rigs. He recommended using knot glue but I've never used it nor had the knot slip either.

I’ll have to give this one a try. It looks like a reverse Albright, which is what I normally tie.

FG knot is low profile and is smooth through the guides, but I’ve had them slip and come undone. So I don’t do them anymore. User error for sure. I use uni to uni but have had breakoffs. Not often but has happened on bulls and a tarpon. I did Bimini twist one time. Worked well but too thick for inshore fishing. I’ll have to try the Alberto.

Looks like that should be a fairly small knot. It also might be the easiest line joining knot I’ve ever seen. I usually tie an Albright but may have to give this one a try.

And re-tie often. I check my line a lot. And and little nick I cut and tie. I am not going to stop checking my line in that first 10 feet to the hook or lure. Or leader for that matter. But when I have a break off and knew my line was nicked I get pretty pissed at myself

Easy tie but I’ve had it fail whereas I’ve never had a uni to uni fail. U2U sucks for the rod guides though
