Have any of you deleted and gotten a tuner recently? Seems like the EPA has come down on a lot of the tuner manufacturers, so EGR and DPF delete tuners are harder to come by.

My warranty expires next month & I've got a CEL on currently that's related to the DEF tank, so I'm considering it. Anything I should be aware of for those of you that have had yours deleted for a while now?

Thanks and apologies if this is on the wrong board.

I haven't followed along on the EPA stuff at all but deleted my 6.7 about 2 years ago for a similar issue, a CEL related to the DEF sending unit or something along those lines. It was either replace the parts at about $900 or tune/delete for ~$1100. I've done about 50,000 miles since with no issues but also don't beat on it. Not sure if you planned on it but it would also be a good idea to replace the stock cold side intercooler pipe as the stock ones tend to get brittle and bust, I did mine when I deleted.

I did a DEF, EGR, DPF delete on my 2012 Duramax at 100k miles. I have about 240k on it now with no issues at all. The used oil is much cleaner. I change it every 6k miles regardless of what the dash says.

Not sure if it's true, but I've heard diesel shops are getting big fines for doing deletes now. Which sucks because I have a 550 that just went out of warranty that I was going to get deleted.

Intercooler pipe, huh? I had no idea. Have you changed out your cold air intake too?

@jd, Yeah, I've called around just to ask and they shut it down pretty quick.....and I live in Alabama.

It's getting even more difficult to get a loaded tuner with the deletes. I wonder how hard it would be to compose tunes myself?

Yep, I had a factory one pop with only about 40k miles, its a known issue, the dealership swapped it out at no cost but they just replace it with the same part that'll eventually fail again.

Yes, after deleting I later added a No Limit Stage 1 intake setup.
