For those with Seadek, how well would it hold up to dogs feet/claws? My dog slips and slides around in my yak so I just lay old bedsheets in it. This might be an alternative

Pillage, where did you get the transducer mount setup?

Transducer arm
1 inch ball

One thing to note.... While the transducer arm is great, if you're fishing around a lot of grass, it will get hung up in it. That will create a lot of drag when trying to paddle. All I do is pull it up out of the water if there's a lot of grass in the area and I'm not necessarily using it.

The camo looks good with the hidden oak color! Since mine is lizard lick green, I'll probably go with gray. I like that it covers the whole deck.

I can't speak for the kayak kit because I haven't tried. I wakeskate a lot though and my friend has Sea Dek on his Super Air 230. It comes factory. We bring dogs on the boat all the time and have never had a problem.

Given the price of those boats though, they may use a different type of EVA or whatever they use for Nautique.

I lost my yak to hurricane Issac. It was in the boatshed down in Leeville. I have the use of a couple. Here I'm in #32's PA14. He lets me use it anytime I want. When we go together I use the Pelican in the background. There is no comparison between the two.

I am looking to get into Yak fishing. Any "starter" setups you recommend for around $800.

I would go with an Ascend FS12T and use the remaining budget to rig it out.

Due to the crappy weather this weekend, I'm doing some more changes to my rig. I'll post up pics by Sunday night.

Just some creature comforts and moving stuff around. I am also setting up multiple camera mounts. I won't be doing anything big until this fall when I add FF/Chartplotter and lights.

I caught about a 30 lbs catfish in my yak this weekend. No pic cause I wasn't putting that sucker in the yak with me. Got him to the side, realized he swallowed my lure, cut the line.

When I hooked him I thought had about a 10+ lbs bass. I was fishing in 2-3 feet of water with a craw fatty.

I was heart broken when he surfaced

Instead of starting a new thread, I'm just going to bump this one with my question.

I need some assistance with waterproofing the hatches on my FS12T. The smaller circular one with the bag in it needs some help for sure (RIP my phone). Where should I apply the actual silicone sealant and which sealant should I use? Other than the actual threading where the cap screws in, I didn't really see a great place to put it.

Same question for the larger rectangular hatch.

Also, random question. You folks yakking with scupper plugs in or out? Just curious.

Thanks.
