Nailed it

Well, hot damn. So its settled, Kimber > Colt, Ford > GM, Collared dogs > non collared dogs.

I'd put Kimber and Colt equal

Since we've officially hijacked that "deal" I got on the Kimber turned out. To be so so. The smith job on the Barsto barrel is shite and I'm in the market for a new drop in barrel. Oh, ICS that Kimber you posted is FINE.

The aluminum frame and CT grip make me drool. They have lots of models that are basically the same thing but that one just stands out to me.

That's why I was wondering who did the fitting.

The ledge (or step or ramp) on the link was completely shaved off. My smith said it may run 10,000 more rounds or 1 more round. Plus the fit of the barrel at the firing pin area has a small gap. I didn't get hurt for $750 but I am still disappoint.

It happens my man. You still have the night sights on her

True. Per my smith the guy accurately represented the round count so I've got a like new Kimber with factory installed Meprolights for $750.

Hey KR, what do you know about the Magnum Research 1911? Looks like a pretty nice gun at a heck of a good price. I'm planning on picking up another 1911 sometime this summer. Haven't really decided which one yet though. So many to choose from.

Never fired or held one. I do think there is plenty that I would rather have than from the company that makes shitty arse desert eagles.

Saw a stainless .50 today in the used rack for $1249.95. I passed....

Late to the party, but the ruger will be my next gun and first 1911
So I say ruger
So I say ruger

Thanks for the input. I think I am leaning heavily toward the SR1911...IF I can find one.
Then again, you know how it goes. I can go in the gun shop with one thing in mind and leave with another.

Yes indeed. Cabelas had one Friday.

Must not have been at your strike price since you didn't leave with it.
