We emailed a year or two ago about these dogs. I since lost my emails and want to touch base with you again regarding some info.

Dogs are breeding this weekend, have already copulated once.
Should have pups ready to go home by mid November.

Just lost my deer tracking/squirrel hunting companion catahoula

Wife said the next dog needed to not shed as much so this is what I came up with

While these dogs can do anything if I was only doing deer and squirrels
I’d get a German wire haired pointer or deutsch Drahthaar .
Bigger fur drive.

Pp’s and dd/GWP’s all shed some.
But You are correct it is A LOT less than a lab.

I’ve met these dogs and the breeder/trainer
Smart and good hunters.

Funny reading back through this. I ended up with a Wirehaired Griffon instead

Either I got lucky or the breed is the best breed ever because my 5 month old pup is already tracking deer and pointing, flushing, and retrieving upland birds

And I am huge dumbass so I know it’s not me as a trainer

I couldn’t possibly recommend a dog breed more than the Griffon right now

I have heard good things about Griffons. I love my DD but wouldn’t recommend one to anybody that doesn’t have adequate time to train and hunt them. If he doesn’t train, exercise, or hunt for multiple hours per day, he is a menace.
