Sorry just saw this. Heard mixed reports over the weekend. I did catch a big gal a couple weeks back.

red fishing in Dularge has been great the past few weeks. I've been trying for trout every morning but the best I've done is 15 trout fishing spots in Mud Lake and Lake Mechant. The fish are just scattered around and I will pull up on one spot catch two or three real quick then it shuts down. Its just that time of year. Went for the homer and made the run out to the Pickets Friday morning just to check things out and I was greeted with muddy Atchafalaya water. Didn't even make a cast, just turned around and headed straight back to the duck ponds. The tide has been low in the mornings and high in the afternoons. Morning fishing for reds has been good with the low tide but mainly fishing canals and points with dead shrimp 6 inches under a popping cork. When the tide finally comes up we have been catching lots of reds in the ponds and shallower areas with spinnerbaits because all that grass hasn't gotten a chance to grow back. Once the grass starts growing back, just a plain ol' matrix shad will be the ticket in those duck ponds because the spinner baits will get hung up way too often. Hope this helps

Gotcha. I was wondering what it was looking like further south. No trout as of yet but we have picked away at a few reds. Mainly w spoons in the grass beds like you said around mechant area. I know its supposed to be windy as hell all week so im sure we will be targeting reds once again.
