Outboard motor problems - 4 stroke Mercury

Have a 2013 Mercury 25 outboard that stays out the weather. It has push button electric start, and it will not start unless I pull it out in the sun and let it sit for a while. Its something to do with the cold.
Anyone ever had this problem? Only thing I can think of is a computer issue. I had someone look at it that is an all around good mechanic and he is clueless of what it can be.
Problem just started when weather started cooling off. All connections are good and battery is new.
Edit: it will crank over, but will not start unless the sun warms it up.

Sounds like it’ll be a tail chasing ordeal. My guess would be the push button start switch.

this often happens when carbs get gunked up.
what happens is, the fuel supply passage for starting fuel mixture gets clogged up, when things warm up, the fuel flows normally again
run berrymans B12 through a tank of gas to clean out the fuel system.

Put thinner oil in the engine or just replace the oil. Gunked up
