Hey guys,
I'm working on a 350 Legend build on a Savage Striker handgun action. The barrel from ER Shaw should arrive in a few days. I'd like to buy a YHM R9 suppressor for it this weekend and take advantage of the Louisiana Second Amendment Weekend Holiday Act. How about we start a list of online dealers who will recognize the Act and not charge sales tax to LA residents? I'll start it out and mention Joe Bob Outfitters. I bought a suppressor from them last year during the tax free weekend and it went well. Actually, in their response to my email today they said they NEVER charge sales tax to LA residents. I need to remember that. OTOH, GrabAgun basically said I'd pay fulll price and have to get a refund on the tax from "LA tax authority." I've got emails pending from others, but I thought I'd see if y'all would share some info w/ us. TIA.

Why not buy from a LA based dealer and skip the transfer fee?

1.I don't have a local dealer.
2. I can order/buy the suppressor after hours. Even if I had a local dealer, I wouldn't have the opportunity to go to the store during store hours and he likely wouldn't have what I want.
3. He's never charged me a transfer fee.

Update:
Lanbo's Armory has the best price so far and doesn't collect LA sales tax.

Did you check with Simmons in Bastrop?

No, it's a 1.5 hour drive to Bastrop. The local guy who has handled my previous purchases was able to order one at a good price. Lanbo's was slightly cheaper, but he's now charging a $60 transfer fee making more expensive for me to order from Lanbo's. One of my friends bought a suppressor this summer from Capitol Armory. Capitol has a program where they provide you a packet to do paper&ink fingerprints at home. His suppressor was shipped directly to his house. I didn't look at buying from Capitol because the suppressor I wanted was out of stock.

When this is over, go check out Simmons. It's the best hunting store in the state in the opinion of basically everyone that sets foot in the place. It's worth the drive. I'm ten minutes from a Bass Pro.

I went to Simmons' once some years ago. I was impressed and thought it was better than BPS. I need to follow your advice;
