1 quart per 1k miles according the manual is okay

Pretty much why I have a V8 in mine. late 07 to earlier 08 builds are the ones who are susceptible to this.

You have to go long arm on a TJ to get 37's, JK's already have a mid arm that works well

Where would one find a driver's seat? Surely there are salvaged ones, right?

You can try Davey's or some other jeep specific salvage. These things never make it to the local pick and pull. Expect to pay out of the arse for a good used one, if you can find one.

Another good resource are the jeep message boards. Pirate 4x4 has a good classified section, however I wouldn't advise trying to post anything. La 4x4 occasionally has good parts deals and the benefit of being a local club.

I must say this is the first time I've heard of someone replacing a drivers seat. What the hell did you do it?

Is it not there? If there reupholster it/them to somewhat match.

What did I do to it? I've had since Friday.

It's ripped up, the seat cushioning is shot, and neither lever does anything.

Thanks. I'll check that out.

Any of you have an easy fix for the poor signal being sent to the soundbar by the Infinity system? As it stands now, those speakers might as well not even be there. I ordered some Polks before reading about that issue. Dodge Nitro amp? That, and I don't think the sub is really bringing anything to the part.

Welcome to jeep ownership.

As many times as that thing has been rained in, there is no telling what's wrong. You can spend an entire weekend chasing it down or you can just pull new wire and replace the shite. Just remember, whatever you put in will get wet and stop working. There is no such thing as a dry jeep.

New amp. Some people are putting some micro amps in the dash. I built a rack out of aluminum under the passenger seat.

The front sounds so good I'll probably leave it all alone after putting the Polks and polyfill in the soundbar. Sounds better than my brand new truck.

put some dynamat or similar product in the pods as well. if you have enough time and effort, seal up the hole inside the pod, so there is a true speaker pod in there

I'm just going with the polyfill. In the end, if I get improvement from those, great. If not, it's already better from those fronts than just about any other vehicle I've owned.

Some guy near here is selling that head unit with bluetooth for $40. Looks identical to ours, but ours doesn't have BT. Not sure about whether or not it will all work if just replaced. may just use a BT adaptor.

I don't think the guy knew what he had. We were not even looking at Jks because of cost. We paid less for this one than we would have paid for an 05 in lake Charles.

The wheels were just a screaming deal IMHO. Wrangler Altitude package wheels, so they actually say Jeep. Almost no wear on tires. $500. Seller turned out to be an agent for one of the companies I represent. Finding black lugs was tough. She finally finds 1 pack and low and behold, one out of 20 was the wrong size Moore/Grant charged $5 per wheel for the swap.

What's a good color for a hard top? I'm working on my jeep now. Painting it with duplicolor bed liner spray in black. I was thinking tan.

Take that ugly chrome grille and side window plates off and it looks just like my old YJ

Thanks Blue.

Btw, should I change this to the "Jeep Enthusiasts" thread?
