I need to check but I think a regular mag will work fine except for maybe the last round.
The Grendel round isn’t tapered like the 7.62x39.

So I am picking up my second ar15 Thursday at PSA.
I never spot-checked the first ten years ago, and really don’t know how to inspect this one.
What am I looking for before I take it out of the store?

Picked up the MCX Spear LT today.
Stopped at my farm on the way back since I had not been there in a couple of weeks and since I had the scope that I was going to put on it I did.
Decided to shoot it just to see. Scope was dang close. Only put 4 rounds through it but it was really smooth. Very happy with it so far although the muzzle devise was a bitch to get off. I actually took the barrel off to get it off. The barrel vise that I bought for my ARs (fits in the the bolt lock) would not fit in the gun. The teeth on the rod I have are too big to fit that kinda sucked.
ETA: messing with it more this morning, the trigger needs to be replaced. It’s pretty heavy.
And I really like the controls on the gun.

Went to shoot it this afternoon.
Shooting a suppressed AR and not get a face full of gas was a new and wonderful experience. As I said the trigger is not good. I will replace it very soon.
I shot 55gr, 69, and 75 that I loaded. The 69 gr work the best.
The scope on it is a FFP NX8 1-8. Between the mirage from
The silencer and the size of the reticle, getting horizontal was a little difficult and the 69 gr showed. There was 1/4” difference in height and 1.5” in windage.
Also switched the gas valve on it and recoil was much improved (using Specter Cat WB).
ETA: I got a Garmin Xero c1. The original LabRadar is complete trash comparatively.

Doesn't it come stock with a match trigger that breaks under 4 lbs?

It does but it's 4.5s.
I may leave it for now and just suck it up for a little bit. But, on most of my other ARs, I have trigger tech triggers in them set at 2.5-3lbs.
I'm a bit of a trigger snob...

Yep. I ordered a set. I bought a Larue 18” Predat barrel earlier this year from optics planet for $140 when Larue discontinued them. I have enough spare parts around to build a pretty damn good build. I found a BCM BCG brand new in my safe last week. Forgot I had it.
Think I’m going to buy this Leupold MK4 to put on it. $629 for a MK4 with illuminated reticle is a great deal.

Cleaning up today I found a 10 round 6.5 Grendel magazine. I was able to load 9 rounds of 7.62x39.
So I'm going to put together another AR.

PSA Underwood 300 BO 194 gr subsonic for $29.99 a box. This shite sells for $72 a box on underwood’s site. Great ammo for hogs and home defense.
I haven’t seen it this cheap since pre Covid. I hate CTD but can’t pass up at this price.
