range ammo
The cheapest brass 556/223 you can find.
Spend $$ on 75g or 77g HPs for home defense or Hunting.

If you aren't going to reload it or sell the brass then just buy steel cased ammo for the range.
Most people won't shoot enough to notice the extra wear on the extractor and even then it's like $8 part that would need to replaced.

How do I get downvoted twice for suggesting reliable range ammo?

FWIW, I didn't downvote you.
Winchester white packs are good to go though. I just like cheap steel stuff.

My issue with steel cased ammo is that it also typically has bi-metal jackets instead of brass. It's not just extractor wear, it's barrel wear as well.

Picked up a stag 300blk 8inch barrel recently and looking for opinions on a suppressor in that mystical sweet spot of shorter length with good sound suppression.
Thoughts/suggestions?
ETA: plans for gun is primarily home defense (just had first baby), but would like to be able to night hunt varmin with it

You're going to get some differing opinions but check out a Trash Panda. Comes with cherry boms for quick attach. I've shot one on a 300 BLK and liked it.

I’ve looked at them and the quick attach is an awesome feature but I don’t have any other rifles and have no long term plans on getting one. I think the half Nelson is the non quick attach equivalent?

Winchester (Olin) is good range ammo for sure. My grandpa used to make their brass at the Olin brass factory in East Alton, IL.

Yes.
Even if you don't switch it to different rifles, the cherry bomb is your muzzle brake so you don't have to direct thread then have to re install a muzzle brake if you wanted to shoot unsuppressrd.

Ah. Thank you. That hasn’t even crossed my mind. I’m very new to this
Any recs on good range ammo in 300blk?

I have a plan B adapter on both my Omega Cans. Rearden makes quite a few Plan B muzzle devices that give more choices than the CB. I have the R2 flash hider on my new setup and have been pleased with it.

The cost savings when you get to that round count will pay for more than a new barrel though. If the cost is the same, then by all means skip the steel.

You have more money than sense if you're paying almost 70cpr for "range" ammo....

Posted on 3/8/23 at 7:50 pm to Jack Ruby
$0.60/rd for 150 rds.
$0.60/rd for 200rds
i'd buy only from Sportsmans Guide if i had to choose from this list....

60cpr is still outrageous for range ammo when you get brass M193 for 38-40cpr right now.

where are you getting it for that at? i've never seen it for that price. not from anyone store i feel comfortable buying from. but i'm weird when it comes to that.

Yeah, I’ve seen that study. I buy ammo from them frequently.
