Lotta stuff been said about stuff and some abilities, but how many of your and yours have a good survival mindset, e.g.,
sound principles
making tough decisions even if it means harm to others
no drama
getting over shite
finding humor in the hardest situations,
More? (feel free to add).

Mindset is the single biggest thing. Most will panic and lose their shite. I kinda look forward to it. We camp just using our bug out bags from time to time. This helps us refine our bags and gives you the confidence that you can do it. I've eaten bugs and all kinds of shite. Of course that stuff's never bothered me. A "can do" attitude is a must.

Hardest part is knowing every day is key to survival. Living with little, becoming minimalist and grinding it out every day to make sure you have enough to get through the day, week. Some people thrive, some fold.

Those who can do with little and live simply can fare the best. Those with abundance will be targets and will not have it for long.

Work ethic and desire to live
Ability to push through pain
Patience to use brain over brawn
Capability to use brawn when needed

Ability to redefine family and community for self preservation.

Very important. And society as well. In a SHTF situation society would be turned on its head. Lots of wealth would just disappear.

That's the right idea. I could do well in the islands of the archipelago I live. Probably be semi nomadic moving between camps.
