Here's the deal. About 63k miles ago bought a pair of all terrains for my rear axle. Paid I think $175 installed. Heck of a deal if you ask me. I think they're on their last leg and I'm looking at getting a new pair.

Looking at the following
Mastercraft MXT
Cooper ST
Cooper STT
$150-180/tire

Opinions? Really don't want to spend more than that but I also still want to keep a little bite as I'm only 2wd.

ETA: I'm looking on tread depot. Any other site suggestions are welcome.

Go to your local Ford dealership. You'll be surprised.

You're getting mud tires just for the back wheels?

I just put four Firestone Destination AT's on my King Ranch. They ride like highway tires but did well in the mud last week. I recommend em!

Yeah no need for the front tires and the fronts are still good anyway. 245/75/16

There are a few on Ebay that are new production, I don't know who is making them. There was an internet rumor that Gateway was going to start making them again.

Maxxis still makes them. They were some flexible, good tires. The only thing with a similar pattern that was better was the original BFG MT

Yeah I've run several sets of the Maxxis buckshot tires and had good luck in general - I did have one blow out on me (slowly) though in 2010, that's the last set I've run.

The one's I'm talking about on ebay are like the old co-op grip spurs.

Just put a set of 285/75/16 BFG KO2 on my 3/4 4x4 suburban and they ride great. Smooth on the road, but pretty aggressive tread for AT. He'll of a deal through local shop here in BR that price matched a Internet price. $1,100 and change out the door

Those are pretty rare. I haven't ever looked up the drivetrain parts, but are they the same as a 2500?

I probably have only seen 3 different ones on the road each year since they've been out. I typically wouldn't miss one either. Id say that's pretty rare

I'm only going by what I've seen and I've seen a lot of them, but I've been a surveyor and so was my dad and they were the preferred vehicle since the mid 70's for that particular occupation.
