This exactly. They tried to sell me a side by side last year for real cheap, now I know why.

Yes. I wear the $25 pairs of Schmidt canvas/duck pants in khaki color on jobsites weekly. Gotta make sure they sew 'em straight as the QC ain't that good but when you get a square pair they will last a long time. Looks just like khakis when you need a nice pair, lasts like jeans when you need something tough. If they get really stained or tore up, toss them and get a new pair, not that expensive.
