Need Help Identifying a Burner

Going through my dads stuff and I found this burner but I have no idea what it is for. Anyone have any ideas?

Looks like it would go under a griddle based on shape and fire distribution.

He has a bull gas burner pit. Its the only gas pit he had for a long time.
