If you have any info on a duck lease in the Port Barre/Krotz Springs/Opelousas area, please let me know. I am part of a group that is looking for a new lease in that area.

Thanks

I can fix you up in Caldwell or Morehouse Parish. I know its not your area of interest but you will spank the Mallards.

Boot,

Have you hunted that area before?

I know of a couple of leases just outside of Port Barre that might still be available. I actually gave one up in that area to take another one about 2-3 miles away. The area can be pretty good sometimes and very bad also. I guess it's like any lease (but last year was poor IMO).

You may be able to get into woodard plantation in Lebeau it is not real far from that area. They always have a ton of birds and if you can get a good blind you will kill. We had a great blind for several years, but we let it go.

We've hunted a swamp in the area since 2003. Have had some good years and some bad years. When the price went up 50% per blind for this coming season, we decided to bail. We still have a camp in the area which is why we would like to stay in the area.

If anyone in the Houston area is looking for a lease let me know. For around $750 you get access to over 20+ different properties for early teal, duck and goose season. It's a really great club with some fun people and you can hunt whenever you would like. Properties are managed accordingly and you call the day before you want to hunt and they will give you info on where to go that next morning.
