Finished staining my round coffee table...also beat it with a hammer to get a distressed look. Turned out okay, but probably couldve used more hammering.

I like that SportTiger
. That's a sharp table. You gotta go with laying nails on it and chains for the real distressed look.
How'd you cut the top?

Probably the worst possible way

I dont have a router and my jig saw abilities are lacking. After drawing my circle, i got my skil saw and loosened the guard plate all the way and used it as a chopsaw all the way around. After 200 cuts, i had a pretty nice circle.
Almost lost a finger at least 3 times.

Came out great though.

when you are building indoor furniture, do you use screws to hold everything together?
thinking of building a small coffee table or something just for practice right now, normally i'd just screw it all together, but not sure how that would look.
what type of coating do you use? obviously stained, but then some type of lacquer?

yeah i use biscuits and glue, with some pocket screws mixed in for good measure. then clamp it all together for a day.
on this i used Minwax polyurethane satin finish, 3 coats on the top with a light sanding between each coat.
ETA - i dont know if most people do, but i usually fill in the pocket holes with wood putty or plugs.

Made a little progress hanging siding on the camp this weekend. Slow, but getting there.
Couldn't go any higher on the side due to not having any scaffold. Was using SIL's, but he has a job that he needed them.
Only one mash finger this weekend.
Same one I did a couple months ago.

Got about 95% of the siding up and a few other things done on the camp.
Today, I was just playing around with some scrap slabs of pine boards that were in the burn pile that comes off when I am sawing. Anyway, this is what I made out of a couple slabs.
Of course it is not finished. Kind of thinking of building a few of these and just sell them on craigslist. The boards are live edge. If I do, what y'all think is a good price? I could custom build them up to 12' long. This one is 6' long.
Oh, y'all guys need to get out there and build something.

Well, at this point, I have less then one dollar in the build and about a hours work. Took longer to clean up after.

A bench I built. Real easy and inexpensive to build. Stained it walnut, with two coats of marine varnish.
