Went to the hot spot for them a couple days ago
Tifton, Ga. Went to college there. 5-6 foot eastern diamondbacks weren’t uncommon around there.

Hope you get a diamond back this trip
Pulled up to our spot today and there was a dead Eastern diamondback right at the start of the road (found a dor Eastern mud on the way back to the hotel too). :(
Solid night though:
7 glass lizards
1 racer
1 cotton
3 green water snakes
6 banded water snakes
1 garter
1 ribbon
…and walked up a scarlet snake for the last catch of the night.

scarlet snake
TD ... would that also be known as a milk snake, which is a subspecies of the kingsnake ? My neighbor growing up had a milk snake, which I always referred to as a scarlet KS. Beautiful snake BTW

Look similar but are different. Scarlet kings and milk snakes are same genus, different species, but scarlet snakes are an entirely different genus.
