The annual gathering of doves is occurring in the sugar cane loading site across from my house. A well placed skillet shot could result in a pretty good haul.

I am confident they will leave around September 1st as they seem to know when opening day is

Around 5:30 pm Saturday I counted 53 doves on the power lines along 415 between Waterloo and Chenal. Someone is going to do some shooting on the 3rd in those soybean fields.

There is a field of sunflower and millet on the way to my farm. They planted after I did and the sunflower did a little better than mine but there were 20 or more dove on the power lines bordering the field.

Hope to get my field cut in a couple of weeks.
