According to the Chronic Wasting Disease Alliance, CWD affects only cervids (hoofed animals in the cervidae family such as deer, elk, and moose).

The Biologist will tell you differently.

The World Health Organization says no evidence. I wouldn't risk it but let's let the facts speak here.

Correct, there hasn’t been a case yet of it transferring into a human but I ain’t gonna be the first.

Non human.
So was HIV. So was BSE. So was Anthrax.
Many other human diseases came from non-human sources: LINK
Diseases mutate, and it’s probably just a matter of time with CWD. The scariest part is that CWD won’t be discovered to have mutated to a human disease for years after people have become susceptible to the mutated CWD, much like BSE.

Wasn’t Ebola only in primates originally too? Hopefully this stays in animals but it could be the zombie outbreak we been waiting for!

Got a freezer full of it from within 25 miles.

My father in law has 2 freezers full of 10 deer and hog he’s had processed. He hunts 1 mike from the location that deer was found.

Well, I’m sure he shot all those deer and was just saving them for a rainy day and never snacked on any. It’s a little late for that.

Just ate some from Franklin county, I'll let you know in the morning.

But seriously, I know there could be issues and no one really knows yet.
However, you would think a bunch of people up north would be sick or have gotten sick from eating tainted meat.

Yeah, I mean it’s certianly not something I’m just blowing off, but we’ve been eating it for quite a while. It’s not like it just showed up the day they found that deer.
