Working after Katrina, I drove down a street in Chalmette and there was a 2000sf brick home on a slab sitting in the middle of the road. After a little looking we determined that it traveled at least a 1/4 miles and besides a few shingles being damaged looked fine on the outside. Looking down the street we found ever home that had a porch had it sheared from the floating house.

I saw several like that as well. If I was a builder I would have came out and filmed a commercial next to one. "See this? You gonna have to take the slab to get rid of this motha fricka!"
