McCormick tractors, any good?

Buddy has a late 90s cab over 90hp McCormick (the ones made in England with a Perkins motor, before Case sold the company) for sale. Inside is ragged, 4000 hrs, 4WD, w/loader, asking $19K.
Is that a ripoff or a deal?

It’s the same EXACT tractor Case IH made as a Maxxum out of the Doncaster plant before they moved to Basildon after the merger.
The Doncaster tractors were some of the finest Case IH ever made- it was a mistake to close Doncaster and keep Basildon- but that’s how the cards fell.
Anyhow- all parts are available from Case IH dealers- they really are identical- and they are good tractors. There are 2 cane farmers that still run drains with them.
Buuuuut- he’s HIGH on his price.
No one wants a McCormick- even if back then they were identical to CaseIH. No one wants a ragged out cab. 4000 hours starts to be in the neighborhood of a lot of hours on a utility tractor- the tractor is totally cabable though.

Thanks. I knew they were close to Case IH, but I didn't know they were essentially identical.

Yep- in 1999 when CNH became a thing there were a couple things that had to happen….
Case had to sell off the Doncaster plant and the tooling inside.
New Holland had to sell off the Winnipeg plant and the tooling inside.
A guy named Buhler bought the Winnipeg plant and kept building the NH Genesis and Versatile tractors- just painted a reddish orange color. Still does today, but he sold to a Russian company (Rostelmash) a few years ago.
Doncaster got bought by Argo who makes Landini tractors. They kept making all of what Case IH did there- and even made the Maxxum for a bit under license.
Doncaster tractors are known as some of the best utility tractors ever made in the world- but you have to be careful of the model and year- Argo closed Doncaster and moved everything to Italy at some point.
