I shot one in .243
I have never owned one. I have read that they are a good, accurate rifle and priced right.

That's the impression I get from reviews. I'd like to hear from someone who's had one for a while

I don’t have one but my buddy has had one in 7mm-08 for prolly 8-10yrs. He has killed a couple of deer with it I have shot it and seen him check zero with it each year and it’s a one inch gun with whatever ammo he was shooting I think hornady.
He has never had any issues with it and I help him with any smithing/zeroing he does.

Awesome. That's what I want to hear. There's one for sale in my area in .308.

Great gun. I have a 30-06 X7 and a XL7 in .308.

It's a shame I lost them in a boating accident.

What's the difference in the X and XL? Now that I think about it, I'm not 100% sure which I have.

Why lose hunting rifles?

I was incorrect with my post earlier...

XL7 is the long action - 30.06

XS7 is the short action - .308

I beleive they went with X7 on later models

I've had a couple of these, currently have a .308. Underrated budget gun IMO. Stock doesn't feel like a plastic POS like many other budget guns. Decent enough triggers. I haven't chased accuracy in this particular gun, but it seems to ring steel just fine in the 200-400 range with all the cheap shite I feed it. I'm not a big fan of the blind mag, but at the price point these go for I can live with it just fine. If you find a good deal on one, you won't be disappointed.

Follow-up: Thanks to my own research and comments from OB posters, I now own a Marlin X7 in .308.

Bought my son one in .308 ten-years-ago and it’s a very reliable and accurate rifle - no buyer’s remorse!
