I have both and have customized the 10/22 some(barrel and stock so far). I prefer the magazine more than the tube.

That's NOT been my experience w/ my four 10/22's. They've come from the factory as good shooters, but they've been made into much better shooters w/ a little DIY gunsmithing. Yes, there are LOTS of accessories and customized parts for the 10/22, but there's nothing badly wrong w/ it as it comes from the factory.

Good comments, not looking for a project just a straight up work horse/plinking gun. Sounds like either one is good.

I use to put 500 rounds a weekend through my dads model 60 when I was younger. I've put quite a few through my model 60 as well. They are very accurate and easy to clean. If you want a simple plinking rifle, they are top notch.

I haven't had any bad experiences with my 10/22 either. It's shot any of the bulk ammo just fine.
