A plastic washtub and a crab basket from academy is the simplest way.
No tipping over a tub of crawfish while trying to strain them with a sack or other contraption.

I swear people make cleaning crawfish way harder than it is and is way more contentious that it should be

Add salt
All you are doing is wasting your salt. It does absolutely nothing as far as purging

Need pound of good salt and two large shakers of Tony’s , if you want to get serious about wasting

That’s what I always did before the cowboy washer. I’d do a freaking commercial for that thing. I love that you can just get it all going and walk away to prepare your water, veggies, etc. By the time your done the crawfish are spinning around in crystal clear water. I thought it was dumb until I got one.

Me too. I got one just to try out and it absolutely works great. Turn the water on dump your crawfish in and in about 15 minutes you have clean crawfish. I think $70 is too expensive for a plastic bucket but it works.
Go on YouTube if you want to make one. A guy built one with pvc that works as good. His holes and slots to the same thing.

The chlorine makes them puke everything up. Salt is useless.
