You ever try the GLS? I like the draw from it much better than the ALS, more natural.

I wonder how he set the pistol down on the table in a way that it was facing him. I could see him turning it around and having one of his fingers or thumb in the trigger guard while doing so.

Everything I read said it was in a holster when it discharged.

The rumor (take it with a healthy dose of salt) going around is the guy detached his Safariland holster with the pistol inside, set it on a table, and the gun went off and shot him in the chest.

First of all, you never get in front of a loaded weapon, ever, no matter what the circumstance.

But second of all, I'm sure almost everyone carrying a Sarariland has done this with a Glock and never thought it would fire (set a holsteted Sarariland pistol on a table Away from you).

If this did actually happen, then every P320 should be melted down and DoD should just order 2M G19xs tomorrow.

Yea but I like the ALS better because it can easily be pushed off the gun one handed. It allows the entire holster to basically act as a thumb safety for certain uses.

I'm wondering if in the example shown the ALS holster was made for a P320 and not an M17. With as good as the safriland holsters I have fit and work it seems unlikely to have been designed that way.

PDs, USAF, & ICE dropping/investigating the platform, combined with rumors coming out of the marines & Sig applying for legal immunity is enough smoke for me to think there's fire somewhere.

Local Ranges - at least here on the Northshore - are banning them from being used as well as not renting them out and going as far as not to sell them if they have a retail shop. Our Rangemaster spoke with 3 indoor ranges from from Ponchatoula to Slidell and 1 has banned them, one has stopped renting them and put restrictions on drawing from a holster, and the other is keeping an eye on them closely but haven't put any rules in place because of the # of LEO's that use their range and the P320 is their duty gun.

We have banned them from Honey Island Shooting Range until further notice.

I love how that post is locked from comments. Go one post down on their Twitter feed and commenters are roasting them alive.

The wood screw is to simulate a slight pressure on the trigger. Whether a human error or a holster error.

With the safety still on, any slight movement to the slide will cause the striker to disengage the sear and fire as shown in the two Twitter videos before the full length YouTube video.

Apparently, there is a lot of slop between the slide and the frame. The gun used in the video was bought used. If anyone here has a 320, clear it, pull the trigger somewhere between its resting position and the wall, wiggle the slide, and see if the striker releases.

If it does, you may want to trade it in or sell it.

“But why does the trigger have to be pulled?”

That’s not the point. Regardless if the trigger is pulled or not, the safety is on. It shouldn’t fire.
