Hi! My family is considering being a member of Lucky 12 hunting club in the Port Barre area. We will primarily be using it for fishing and family time. Does anyone have any knowledge of the place? Family friendly? Good fishing spot? Thanks in advance.

I am not personally in or heard of it before but, a quick google search tells me to stay far far away.

Fishing should be OK. Duck hunting is OK. Deer hunting isn't worth it. Squirrel hunting is good. I grew up there and it's been awhile since I've hunted the area but your family can enjoy some great times there. Plenty of places for Atv riding.

I used to be in the club about 10-15 years ago. It was $500 back then, I believe. all I did was duck and squirrel hunt. when the water is up, it's some of the best duck hunting. Northern border of Indian Bayou, USACOE.

I was in it years ago. Way too many members for the amount of land.

Had a ton of members before. They have recently lost 2 tracts of land. I have heard thru the grapevine that it may fold. Do your due diligence would be my advice. The two properties totaled around 1800 ac or so. A close friend of mine leased 1 tract of that. It has 800 ac. The land is very low and he has some of the higher parts. It does have plenty of ducks and squirrels. Deer are so so. Good luck.

The lease has been recently acquired by Reggie Little, same guy that has 2 o'clock. Earl's grand daughter gave it up. His contact info should not be hard to find. He is well known in that area . No idea what the cost is now but as long as you bring cash, you're in. Place is trashy, lot's of old abandoned camps made from old campers and school buses. The one access road is terrible, 4WD terrible. Most of the property is flooded during hunting season and the property is divided now. Majority of access is by boat. Great for wood ducks and crawfishing. There is probably an added fee to run traps. Deer hunting is limited as all of the established members have stands on the ridges that don't flood 100 yards apart. Good luck.
