Guy fixing my boat says fishing line ruined my lower unit. Needs to be replaced. How?

Gets in the seal and ruins it. Water gets in and it ruins it.

Line gets into the seals, oil leaks and the gears burn up

Size hp?
Went through three LU on last motor and one on 40merc. Bought a sei last time for 225 opti and it was solid and bolted to another merc now. Wholesale marine sells them for $910.00 for the v-6 and I think free shipping. Follow break in procedure and you should be golden.

2004 Yamaha 150. 2 stoke. Guy told me probably $4000 for OEM, $2300 for SEI. Turned in insurance claim.

Well you’re going to make $$ on this claim but save the balance because something else is going to break. SEI lower for Yamaha is $920. Like I said, follow break in procedure to a tee and you should be happy.
