Anyways thanks for the info.
That Finished Title would look really good when pimping your dog out as a stud. Do you already have some buddies that own prospective females?

I know a few people that want a pup off of him because of his temperament. But prospective females yet. Got to get all his certs and other test done first.

Yes. That's him. I know I need to get his hips, eyes, and ears certified, but I don't know what else needs to be done.
This
How old is he. I know a wiemer has to be at least 2 to make sure there is no hip displac going on.
I guess it differs some between breeds

generally in most breeds especially large breed dogs you want to wait until they are mature before breeding. I would definitely wait until 2.
That being said, most people do this for the "cash" they think it brings in and dogs with bad genes get thrown out b/c most people dont know what to really look for when pairing dogs up for breedings... Not saying the OP is doing anything bad for the record.
Just do your homework and make sure you are using a reputable person to breed with. You, your breeder and your dog can get a bad name really quick b/c of a bad selection in a female/owner. I learned a lot over the years, my parents bred and showed bullmastiffs for 20+ years. Always 3-6 dogs at the house with maybe 1 litter per year.... have to be very selective. You also, might want to look up possibly having a contract drawn up with the owner you breed with.

Why would a contract be needed? He will be 4 in June.

contract with the people you sale the pups too. you don't' want them running around breeding to every tom, dick and harry just to make 3-400 bucks a breeding for stud fees or charge that for a pup all the while saying this pup is from so and so.... next thing you know your breeder is calling wanting to know what the frick are you doing with his bloodline.....
My parents had a contract that stated whether or not you could breed the dog and if you did they had to see the dog first or know about said dog. Any pup that didn't seem like they would pan out had a contract that stated they had to be spade or neutered by a certain age... usually by 1-1.5yrs if i remember correctly. You do it this way with a number of breedings and you end up being able to charge more for your stud fees and pups. And you grow your bloodline the right way. instead of just spitting pups out left and right.

The woman I bought my dog from is anal about who her dogs go to and I like that. She would probably be the only one I'd breed my dog with because of that fact. She keeps the bloodline as best a possible.
