There's a thread on this exact subject somewhere on the first page I think.

Good luck. Good deer leases at decent prices are getting hard to come by.

Have you checked with all the logging companies? They lease tons of land, but most of it is pines and cutovers.

Not many logging companies left leasing in this area. If you're looking in St.Francisville or Wilkinson County expect to pay at the very minimum $25 an acre and you'll be extremely lucky to find that.

good luck Ive been looking for 2 years

We're paying a little less than that (not sure exactly how much) but are extremely fortunate the landowner really likes some I the guys that have been on the lease a long time. When she's gone the price will likely jump pretty high, there have already been people trying to outbid us last to we renewed the lease.

Really is getting out of hand in what they want for land. Lived here all my life and always had plenty of places to hunt. Now I can't afford to compete. If I was smart I'd take advantage of the public land around here but never done that before so I'm hesitant.

To the op, they do have 1400 acres for sale in W.F. 5.5 million and its yours.

My god I don't see how people can pay $75 per. My dad leases 300 acres for 1k a year. I knew it was cheap, but I'm shocked.

I had heard that the Mt Vernon part of W Feliciana was recently leased at around $65 an acre. Thats the highest Ive heard of. Some are paying 50+ but thats for cattle and hunting rights
