I wear regular non-insulated LaCrosse boots and do a lot of walking on public land.
Same here. I’ve tried hollow alpaca, darn tough, sock liners, antiperspirant… doesn’t matter, my feet are going to sweat. A buddy of mine told me his technique to keeping your feet warm, and it works. You can wear whatever socks you want, and I find this works better with a thinner sock. I wear Sitka socks now because they’re comfortable, but I’ve even done this with my ankle socks that I wear everyday.
Buy Hot Hands insole warmers. I buy them in bulk to last the whole season. Fold them over your toes, outside of the socks. You have to open the pack at least 30 minutes before you put them on and put on your boots. Otherwise they’ll snuff out. On a short walk, I open them in the truck on the drive, on a long walk I open them and throw them in my pack and put them on at the tree. Don’t forget to peel the plastic so they stick to your feet. I’ll attach a picture for reference. Try it, it works. All day sits you’ll need to pack an extra pair. It’s good for half the day.

You know they make toe warmers too. I use insole as designed on bottom, toe warmers on top. Works great
Took advice from here on Darn Tough socks, practically all I’ve worn last couple years. I use UA heat gear socks when it’s 105 outside.
