Looking for a set of large rattling antlers - SWLA

Does anyone know of shed collectors or an individual that would have large sets of antlers in the Lake Charles area?
I saw a huge buck on the lease this weekend and this article got my head a spinning.

I was always told you don't want to clang big thick heavy horns together, as it sounds like 2 big bucks and may intimidate the buck you are trying to kill.
Instead, click clack a small set together and it sounds like 2 young bucks, something a mature buck will certainly want to run off.

I collected a set of 130" class sheds a few years back and converted them to rattling antlers. They are big and cumbersome but very loud. I did harvest one of my largest whitetails when using them a decade ago but I'm not sure I'd use them where big bruisers aren't common.
If you get a large set my only advice is to get a sawzall or whatever and cut the brow tines off. Nothing is worse than smashing the shite out of your fingers while rattling during a hunt. With smaller antlers this isn't as big of a concern.

Definitely cut the brow tines off and wear gloves while rattling. I use sheds, but I'm pretty sure the store bought ones sound pretty similar.

I have also heard this a number of times and then I read actual studies like the one I linked in the OP and it makes me disregard that theory. Plus, the deer I saw WAS the mack daddy around those parts. Jesus, when I think about seeing him I start shaking

Solid advice.

Good luck then. I'd take 100's of years of experience from actual hunters before I listen to a couple of Texas queers run off about their little study behind high fences. I bet there was a lot of "grunting" going on in those box blinds they observed from if you know what I mean.

Hey, to each his own.
I'm just trying to find a pair of antlers so I can kill a deer.
